“Every year on Yom HaShoah, we honor the memory of the approximately 6 million Jewish persons who lost their lives in the Holocaust,” said U.S. Rep. Al Green. “This day of remembrance reminds us of our solemn duty as the living to remember the sins of the past and ensure they are never repeated. We cannot be indifferent to the dehumanization and systemic extermination that an entire people faced if we wish to leave a better world for posterity.

“This morning [April 28],” Green continued, “I had the opportunity to speak on the House floor in observance of Holocaust Remembrance Day. I pledge to continue speaking up against antisemitism, as well as all forms of hatred, oppression and invidious discrimination, not only today but every day and invite you to join me in upholding the commitment to never forget. Never again.”
